Mondays just aren’t the same anymore. Over these past few months, we’ve had to give life a new meaning, or maybe the true meaning of life is being revealed. Life, interestingly enough, moves fast but slow. Things outside of ourselves are moving at a rapid rate, but on the inside, things have slowed down just enough to give us the ability to see. Things that we’ve once overlooked are now being noticed. What once was something we considered to be small are now grand and cherishable moments. It’s those moments of being present that we need to hold close. This world is changing and can feel heavy, but you can find joy in those moments of being present. So, if you find yourself feeling low and emotionally drained, I want you to take some time to be present. Go for a walk, call a loved one, sit still and close your eyes, read your favorite book, write in your journal, watch a funny movie, or simply give yourself a compliment. You are worthy, and you matter.
When I need a pick me up, I’ll write, sit outside in the sun, paint, talk with my family (usually someone will say something funny and make me laugh), and remind myself that I matter and it will be okay. What are some of your favorite pick me ups?
